Title: “Radiative 3D models and spectral synthesis for protoplanetary disks”
This talk will describe the modeling of non-axisymmetric protoplanetary disks by combining the ProDiMo code (Woitke et al. 2009) with 3D MHD simulations of accretion disks. ProDiMo is extended with 3D non-grey radiative transfer and used to establish the thermal structure of the gas and dust components, radiative energy balance and chemical composition under the assumption of hydrostatic equilibrium. The model takes as input snapshots from 3D hydrodynamic simulations of disks with and without a giant planet forming at 10AU. The resulting disk structure and velocities are then used to produce both SEDs and high-resolution spectral synthesis for comparison with observations.
