Название доклада: “The core collapse supernovae 2008gz, and 2008in – rare events of type IIP”

Краткое содержание доклада:
The core collapse supernovae events probe the star formation processes, galactic chemical evolution and constrain the stellar evolution models. Theoretically, the explosion mechanism for these events is similar, however they are observed to differ greatly in the energetics, e.g, from low-luminosity, low-velocity Ni-poor events to high luminosity, high velocity Ni-rich events. Consequently a detailed photometric and spectroscopic investigation of individual events is necessary to understand the nature and environment of their progenitors. In this talk, results from a recent observational study of two events viz. supernovae 2008gz and 2008in, both of type IIP, will be presented and discussed.

Название доклада: “A Possibility of Magnus effect on Galaxies”

Краткое содержание доклада:
I will present possibilities of the Magnus effect, a well known phenomena and fundamental to hydrodynamics, on rotating disk galaxies in astrophysical concepts. It may be acting on galaxies globally. The effects of Magnus effect on galaxies will also be speculated.
