We present a critical analysis of traditionally used 2D equations of gas dynamics for astrophysical discs. Some examples of purely 2D and 3D structures are presented. To describe the former we need to introduce some corrections to the 2D eqiations. It is also shown that structures on corotation radius like two dimensional pseudo-ring structures are actually 3D structures and require 3D equations to be described correctly.
