Title: A Tale of Three Talks: Radio emission as a proxy of star-planet interaction; Overview of radio studies at the IAA-CSIC; Fly-by of other studies at the IAA-CSIC.

Abstract: In this “Tale of Three Talks” I will first present my current interests in the exploitation of sensitive radio interferometric observations to probe the radio emission from low-mass objects. In particular, I will discuss the radio emission expected to arise from sub-Alfvénic star-planet interaction, when a planet is located inside the Alfvén region, as well as the emission from ultra-cool dwarf stars with VLBI techniques. The nature of this radio emission is similar to that observed in the Jupiter aurora, in particular, the emission induced by its satellite Io, which is coherent, highly circularly polarized and beamed. The detection of this radio emission would validate low-frequency radio observations as a new and completely independent method to discover and characterise exoplanets in the future. Second, I will present a brief overview of other radio studies carried out by my group and by other groups at the institute, going from the detailed star-formation studies in Orion and the Galactic Center, to radio transients (supernovae, GRBs, TDEs) and studies of the nuclear regions of Luminous Infrared Galaxies in the nearby universe, and ending with studies with the Event Horizon Telescope. Finally, I will do a fly-by of (some of) the topics studied in my institute, aimed at making the INASAN personnel familiar with them and, hopefully, be the starting point for potential collaborations in the future.
