Conference “Modern stellar astronomy”

The Modern Stellar Astronomy conference

The Modern Stellar Astronomy (MSA) conference is held each year,beginning from 2010, at a different hosting astronomical institution. The conference provide a forum for Russian and former-Soviet-Union scientists concerned with stellar astronomy and related topics. The program consisted of invited talks, contributed oral talks, and poster papers. There are about 50-80 registered participants at each of the meetings.

The key topics for the conference are Stars, Stellar Dynamics, Distance Scale, Stellar Clusters and Associations, Interstellar Matter, Variable and Binary Stars, Star Formation, Databases and Catalogues, Milky Way Galaxy, Galaxies, Modern Observational Facilities, Exoplanets, etc.
In addition MSA conference comprise a commemorative session.
The conferences are organised by the Sternberg Astronomical Institute of the Moscow State University, the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Eurasian Astronomical Society,and the hosting astronomical institution.The conferences are sponsored by the Physics Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian Foundation for Basic Researches.
