Название доклада: “Mass function of young star clusters in nearby galaxies “

Краткое содержание доклада:
Status of the Mass function study of Large Magellanic Cloud star clusters shall be discussed along with those of nearby galaxies. Both ground and space HST observations have contributed significantly to this area. Presence of mass segregation in the young star clusters could be an imprint of star formation process as their ages are significantly smaller than their dynamical evolution time. Mean MF slope of 2.23 derived for a sample of 27 young dynamically unevolved LMC stellar systems provide support for the universality of IMF in the intermediate mass range (2-12 solar mass). The relevance of these results for Astrophysical studies shall be highlighted in the presentation.
