The counting of votes is over — in frames of the contest “NameExoWorlds” the names for 19 “exoworlds” (14 stars and 31 exoplanets orbiting these stars) were selected by public vote and accepted by the International Astronomical Union. More than half a million voters from 182 countries and territories contributed to the assignment of new official names to extraterrestrial worlds, reflecting a truly international interest in astronomy.
