The seminar will be held in a mixed format

1) Speaker: Bo Li, Xiaoxu Wang (CIOMP, China)

Title: “CIOMP brief Introduction. CIOMP activities in space exploration. Possibility of international cooperation”

Abstract: The Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) was founded in 1952, focusing on luminescence, applied optics, optical engineering, and precision mechanics and instrumentation. CIOMP has formulated an integrated “Research, Industry, and Education”, and is increasing its abilities to realize the full potential of a wide range of endeavors.
The Space Optics Department I of CIOMP is mainly engaged in the research of optical remote sensing payloads for civilian and scientific applications, and has developed optical instrumentations that cover the spectral range from X-ray to long wave infrared. We have the ability of developing panchromatic, multispectral and hyperspectral imagers and detectors for aerospace applications in the fields of atmosphere, meteorology, oceanography, space weather and deep space detection.
Our report in this seminar will mainly include the following contents:
1. A brief introduction about the main research fields and engineering development capability of CIOMP.
2. A simple presentation about spaceborne optical payloads development achievements, and the capability of optical instrumentation developments of the Space Optics Department I of CIOMP.
3. The interested space detection plans about asteroid defending, UV/EUV optical payloads development, and the earth-planetary spectrum measurement at Lagrange L1 point.
We hope that this brief introduction may attract the interest of relevant researchers and can arouse a wide range of collaboration possibilities in space optics and fundamental optical techniques.
