PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

MAIN SCIENTIFIC RESULTS

• a new direction in the theory of star formation has been developåd – the theory of chemical-dynamic evolution of protostars. The theory provided a key to understanding the General nature and specific properties of dense clusters of molecular clouds-the precursors of stars;
• the theory of interaction of stars with interstellar matter at various evolutionary stages is developed, as well as the theory of chemical evolution of galaxies, taking into account the interaction (exchange of heavy elements) with the intergalactiñ medium;
• scientific approach to solving the problem of asteroid-comet hazards has been developed;
• the scientific program of the Spektr-UF (WSO-UV) international project, one of the key projects of the Russian Federal space program, has been developed. The goal of the project is to create a large space observatory in the ultraviolet range to solve fundamental problems of astrophysics, cosmology and physics. B. M. Shustov is PI of the project.
